I have been getting a lot of this again recently. It is not the bicep its self, it is pain right in the crook of the elbow where the tendon runs.

Truck pull today really inflamed it, log cleans, stones and wide grip squats also make it flare up.

Any advice on managing it?

I find putting onsome tiger balm before I train helps a bit, but hoping there is more I can do

I used to get this pain when doing overhead work.

Doing elbow flexor work like curls sorted it out almost immediately.

I had the same fir a while with stones. But got deep tissue release on the bicep, and upper forearm plus the tendons in the elbow.
Also doing more light barbel curls and db curls seem to get the blood rushing around the area. But in the first instance icing helped afterwards. And doing sone self treatment on the sore area with your thumb helped too.
I mind Wadley suffered from this too.

Cheers guys, I hoped curls were not the answer, most boring exercis in the gym Unhappy

I do remember Wadley getting it Neil, and him using forearm straps for it. I tried them and it helped for squats, but was no use for log and stones.

Would make an effort to self massage the area twice (include the upper forearm) a day for about 10 minutes (use your Tiger balm). Also try and roll the tendon with a small piece of PVC pipe. Ice might not be a great idea as tendons tend to have a poor blood supply. Try not to irritate the area. Expect around 5 weeks to heal.

I feel your pain mate, I've got this at the minute and have had so many times before, annoying as much as anything else. Try wrapping a tennis elbow support tightyl around your upper forearm, has helped me in the past, but strangely not helping at the minute. You can get them from most chemists.

id second that and put some heat on it too to improve the blood flow to the area, it will help heel the tendon and ease the pain.

Thanks for all the input. The tennis elbow type strap on the forearm worked in the past with squats, so may try it again. It is no use for stones though.

Will try the massaging and may get a sport therapist to have a rub there when I have some spare cash

I watch those two fingering and thumbing each other regularly. Bear hugs are common from behind.
