Its like £15 to enter either comp I think.

Will have a look at it- qualifier looks good, but I'd not be able to do the Scottish if I did get through though- my birthday on the 9th Nov, I'm away with the wife.

This morning>

100 swings with my 48kg kettlebell in 7.59min. Quite tough, getting down to 5mins will be hard...

when that happens to me I just skip it and put some more weight on. thats when .5kg plates come in handy. Grin

More frustrating snatching today, BW 87kg>

Snatch:
2x 40kg
2x 50kg
1x 60kg
1x 70kg
F 75kg
1x 75kg
F 80kg
1x 70kg + 3 OH squats
1x 70kg + 3 OH squats
F 70kg
Poor, even by my standards.

Snatch grip deads:
3x 100kg
3x 140kg
3x 160kg

Bottom position snatch grip press:
3x5x 40kg

Same old snatch problem, shoulders rolling forward/internally rotating. Frustrating, but I know what I've got to do so I'll plod along.

As long as you're identifying problems you'll be improving mate. Just keep watching vids and cracking on

Yeah, I guess you're right...I've dropped 6kg BW since I got an 85kg snatch PR, and I hit 82.5 the other day, so it's not all bad I suppose.... I'm just jealous of all you guys getting 100kg+!

Clean & Jerk:
1,1x 80kg
1x 90kg
1x 100kg
1x 105kg
1x 110kg
1x 115kg F jerk (fannied about too much)
1x 120kg
1x 127.5kg F jerk (heaviest clean I've done at the lighter BW, jerk was miles off though)


Had to cut it short, will hopefully get back later to do some squats.

Edit- clean is actually a PB at any weight! Whoop.

Finished off this mornings session after a day of decorating>

Squat:
2x 120kg
2x 140kg
1x 160kg
4x 170kg
2x 170kg
Not in squat mode tonight- everything felt HEAVY

Push press:
3x3x 92.5kg

Front squat:
1x 120, 130, 140kg

Jerk practice- widening the split lots of reps with 60 and 80kg.

No fireworks- squat was awful! Still, PB clean this morning, no prize for sqauts! Happy

To get a clean PB whilst dropping weights is very good going.

As Gingy said, you know what you need to do and keep doing it so will keep improving.

Snatch:
2x 40kg

1+F 75kg
F+1x 75kg
1+F x 70kg
2x 70kg
Mixed bag- some great reps, other weird ones- almost hit my face a few times, on the way up, which is new..... However, shoulders seem to be starting to stay pointing the right way.


Pause OH squats:
3x 60kg
3x 70kg
2x 80kg
I think these will be key to my s**tty snatch, sort out my wobblyness- pretty much exactly what my snatch is....

Snatch deads:
3x 100kg
3x 140kg
3x 165kg

Going to really push training for a couple of weeks, see how it goes.

s**tty mobility hindered the jerk a bit, must remember to warm up properly or it messes things up....

Front squat:
1x 120kg
1x 130kg
1x 140kg
1x 150kg
F 160kg (racked it all wrong)
3x 110kg
3x 115kg
3x 120kg
3x 125kg
3x 130kg

Goosed, went to work. Alright, keep forgetting how often I need to do mobility stuff just to be able to get in the right positions! Will have to get back on it when I'm not at the gym as I've been lax recently.

Today:

Hang Snatch (below knees):
2x 40kg
2x 50kg
2x 60kg
2x 70kg
F 75kg
1,1,1,1,F x 75kg
Started with straps, but ditch them on the first fail as they give me the fear now.... Still looping behind, need to keep the bar closer.

Pause OH squat:
3x 70kg
3x 75kg
3x 80kg
Getting better.

Clean deadlift:
3x 140kg
3x 160kg
3x 180kg
Glute niggle- won't be doing these again. Still here after all this time..

Alright, snatch technique needs to be looked at, but I think I know what needs to be done to correct it. Going to limit my pulls to 10-20kg over my clean/snatch from now on. Want to avoid glute pain at all costs.
