I'm now hoping to make this my first competition. Bryn says I'm welcome to lift there. I've adjusted my flights to come into Manchester on Saturday 7th 10:35am and leave early Monday morning on the 9th. Just need to figure out if anyone else is leaving from Manchester to go to the comp on the Sunday and if I can do a petrol share or something with them? If not I'll need to make my own way up by train I guess? Staying Sunday night at a hotel right next to the airport cos the flight out on Monday is EARLY, but the Saturday night I'm not sure about yet as I need to know where is best to stay depending on how I'm going to make it up to Colne on the Sunday morning. I can do this nearer the time obviously.

What time do I have to be there for weigh-in etc.?

Anyhoo, great stuff, I'm finally going to get an opportunity (read excuse) to wear my leotard!

I don't think I'll be lifting at this event, but I'd be more than willing to help out in some way - scoring/loading whatever.

I really appreciate all the effort that Bryn and others put in, it provides a great environment for new lifters like myself!

Anyway, if any of the organisers want to get in touch just drop me an email on sam.welsh@armymail.mod.uk

cheers,

Sam.

I really should have said to jim and bryn earlier that i would be available to load and help at all comps providing someone provided transportation. However not at this one because i will be competing.

All being well I should be lifting at this event too, were doing quite a bit of work to the venue to make it a good contest, particularly in the warmup area with some additional equipment, bars and discs and a proper lifting platform. Thanks for the offers of help I will keep you posted on developments.
Feel free to send your entries in soon!

I strongly suspect I'm lifting in this though Alan hasn't actually told me yet. I'll check on friday and cheque if so Happy.

A number of the regular helpers are going to be lifting at this contest (myself, Jim and Marie Thornton who will be being helped by Sue) this means we are going to need some reliable volunteers to commit to do some loading on the day. It doesn't mean you have to spend all day doing it or be a maths genious at adding up all the plates (the referees will point you in the right direction to avoid misloads!) If you would like to help with the smooth running of the contest please put your name on the competition database and hopefully it will encourage others. Thankyou in anticipation
Bryn
