Think most will know who are bpc members by now but a new fed BPU British powerlifitng union) (emma james) has the affiliate license for the WPC - Brian Batcheldor of BPC lost it (apparently long story) but basically its another fed formed, the BPU are honouring BPC members membership until Jan 14' which is a decent gesture IMO, so many who had qualified for the worlds can still competein WPC Prague in november, albeit via the BPU....not BPC......

at least BPU have a website anyway!

Any idea if the BPU starting records from scratch, or bringing forward BPC records?

We will be starting records from scratch, more than likely a standard will be set like when gbpf split from bwla.
bpc records belong to the bpc and cant be used.

You will need to lift in the WPC/BPU british championships and gain top two placings to qualify for a place in the team for the worlds, there may also be other lifters that get picked on merit based performance.

GBPF brought forward all the records from BWLA.

The standards were introduced when the weight cats were changed no records existed

GBPF and BWLA were the same fed just under a different banner so they owned the records, and if I remember correctly there was no conflict when the split occured, BWLA did not wish to keep the records, lol.
The BPC, BPU situation is slightly different as BPC own the records. So BPU cannot use them.

was same, BPC couldn't take them from BPO....records are normally now registered to each fed they were attained.
