Member 194, 3976 posts | Glenn was fat, and also pretty s**t for a 200kg bloke I thought. Sven was tantastic, even Del had some competition there. Carl is a big lad, but not as big as Glenn The competition was good, the 110 lifting was the best by far, great competition and some superb lifting and solid poerformances. I will when I can be arsed or when I get bored at work write a report of some sort up. Del won me some cash, so fair play to him. And despite Craig not hitting what he wanted he still got 1025kg total so in the words of a true wanna be gangsta 'nuff respeck to im'

Member 194, 3976 posts | Bored already! A sort of summary. This is my summary for the lifting I was following over the weekend. Chris Jenkis had some competition and unfortunately bombed with a 210 bench, the second one did look good to me, but he was called for raising the bum (which I couldn’t see anyway). He had already squatted 345 and was going to open with a 310 pull. More interestingly for me was the battle of the 110’s. There was the battle for the title, and then there was the battle for third place going on. The two real big totals went for it on the squat I think they both opened at 400kgs both hitting it, Del taking 425 as a second and Craig 425 to keep them level, the obvious plan was Craigs bench difference being bigger than Dels deadlift difference, we wouldn’t have expected any less to be honest. Del responded with a 445 squat, and Craig went for the same, Del got his white light but Craig bombed his squat (or rather dumped it before he went down), possibly a problem with his back at the time. This gave Del a 20kg advantage. Onto the bench, Del opening at 220, 3 whites. Craig opening at 280!!!! 3 whites and an easy press for the short bull. Del went 230, and Craig opted for a 290 to keep the gap. Del hit his bench, Craig missed his (I didn’t see it as I was helping Tim ‘Van Halen’ from PLUK with his shirt). Del went for a 240, three whites again, the gap was now just 40kg on the bench, Craig opted for a massive 300kgs to push the gap again, no lift 3 reds. Going into the deadlift Craig had a 20kg advantage. Craig opened with a 300kg pull, easy stuff. He was rapidly put in his place by Del pulling 350 as if he were going to do a high pull with it. It looked like game over from this point in, and indeed Porky and I had come to the same conclusion backstage. Craig pulled a respectable 320, and then Del pulled 370, again not a problem. Craig went for the kill, and fair play to him for doing it with a 352.5 meaning if Del missed his third it was Craigs. Failed lift, didn’t really get past the knees. Del narrowly missed 382.5kg deallift but took the title in a hard fought battle for first. I’ll let Porky fill you in on his lifting, it was solid and a good effort. Steve Middleton as always put on a solid performance in each lift, but it was a close run battle, and I was disappointed for Dai when his third squat wasn’t passed, if James Coppings 340 the previous day was to go by anything, Porkys squat was deeper than hell compared to it. Other POI, Glenn Ross is fat, very fat! And has the worst squat form I have seen (still a 360 with wraps is now to scoff at, but I couldn’t help think well Lee just did a triple with 340 with no wraps in the gym so not really impressed). The battle of the Supers was over after Donnie bombed on the squat, it was a close call on all of their squats to be honest, they all came up so easily but they struggled for depth and I guess that is what happens when you are 160+ kgs even with 500kg on your back. Sven Karlson has lost some timber, possibly due to melting it off on sunbeds and spending all his cash on industrial strength bleach for his hair. One of the Gladiators was there, he looked gay! But I suppose fair play to him for standing there in a bit of spandex with sequin on it in a room full of actual strength athletes and not faggot inspired TV ‘athletes’ who look pretty for the camera. Jim Nuttall looked strong as usual, and was a bit irritated to say the least when he was called on his 340 deadlift for not locking out. Jimmi Marku was around the place, he looked a pretty well made guy with a solid build. Er what else. Bulldog tried to kill one of the spotters by dropping 455kg on his arms, proving for this spotter that curls are for girls and biceps get hurt when they play with real weights. I saw a few lads from Sugden, namely Carl, Kenders and of course Dai & Del as they were lifting.

Do hugs, not drugs. Member 136, 712 posts SQ 380, BP 242.5, DL 330952.5 kgs @ 110kgs Eq | Alright pop pickers! Get on the gear - I've seen the future and its anabolic. Your own correspondent clocked in with 340/365/380(fail), 215/230/240 and then 300/312.5/337.5(fail) for a 917.5kgs total. Only good enough for fourth place in the heat of the 110kgs class, would have got me second in the fat boys at 125kgs believe it or not. I didn't see a lot else except my own class as I was preoccupied with my own prep. Thanks to Matt for his help and support and nice to meet Carl who is about 12 years old at a guess. Del and Craig were a class apart, Del deserved to win - he was on fire yesterday. Coombesy will be back though - a few years of battles between these two to look forward to. This show was the best British powerlifting competiton I have ever been to, and I've been to a lot over the years. I would like to think this is the start of big things for the BPC, big lifting, television, strongman competitors, big prizes, great venues and the birds from Spearmint Rhinos.
