Olly - I didn't know there'd been any BWLA pull only or squat only comps. There certainly aren't nationals.

Im not knocking you for going to a BDPFA comp but the only reason I would compete in BDPFA would be to pick up some easy world records, nobody I speak to about BDPFA seems to have any respect for it.

when you coming to get the world records then big man 75kg unequipped 200/175/242.5 or you could move up a weight class 85kg unequipped 240/198/300 in the single lifts easy eh

Steady on fella, I must admit I know quite little about the BDPFA for starters. I certainly wouldn't want to engage in fed bashing, its all gets a bit childish at times. Whether you lift BWLA/BDPFA/BPC/whatever I couldn't cares less. Admitedly the people I speak to in person will have a bias against the BDPFA since most of them lift in BPC.

Also just because I claimed a world record would be easy I didnt mean I could break one. I will stand corrected but AFAIK the record squat in the junior 67.5kg class was 140kg. Ive repped that 5 times with no belt or knee wraps (Im not bragging). Again I dont know any records off by heart but I think the equivalent in the IPF was much higher than that. I know Im not going to hit a 200kg squat raw for a good while so I could hardly label it easy could I? Although I will accept the IPF has a much longer history so you could argue the BDPFAs records are under-developed.

I will also accept Rick's point that single lift comps would be a good motivation to lift in a fed, Id be up for doing a squat/deadlift only comp.

Yep, have been for years! Dates for this year:

Sept 28th - South East Squat
Oct 26th - South East Deadlift

I guess there can be quite a disparity between different divisions in BAWLA.
