I work 40 plus hours, study ( only doing 60 level 3 cerdits to finnish off this year) and train about 3 times aweek for 2 hours.

I find it not to difficult to balance, just dont have any social time (but waste far to long on here, the biggest disscursive experiment in the UKWink) spare and def no time for long chillinWink

Correct, but my training year is going to kill me though. Teaching, planning and uni essays :/ Where will I fit my gainz in!

I am making the most of this time for training, we (as students) don't have many real responsibilities so may as well enjoy uni and training too, you can worry about fitting stuff in when you're 40 with a family and mortgage. The fact were all on sugden right now surely shows how 'busy' we are... Don't get me wrong, around exam time I won't be training as often, but if training is that important to you you will make time.

Forgive my cynicism but people generally have horrible time management skills. Roll-Eyes

I don't even leave school before 4 at the minute and I'm only doing a weekly placement. training at 8 more like ahah. I intend to have a basic home gym set up for those long days. I can mark books inbetween sets.

If you take your studying seriously it will take up alot of your time.

If you take your job seriously it will take up your time.

If your lazy you will have lots of spare time.

I think it must depend on what you study, I did history and politics and had all sorts of free time to train/drink/play rugby/chase women. Admittedly my degree does have very few practical applications.

I'm in my final year, dissertation is due in 2 and a half weeks with my discussion still to write... I work voluntarily at 3 places during the week taking up a large portion of my time in travel etc. and work as a PT at the University gym, I've also got my UKSCA assessment coming up this weekend with lots of prep to do and a presentation to do tomorrow...

I lifted tonight still. But I'm s**tting one about everything...

Fitting lifting into student life is easy. Do students have anything hard? Not really. I've gone gym 3-5x week for 5 years at university through the toughest of years and the easier ones.

Never understood people who have to take months off at exam time. Even if I'm studying from 9 til 6 with an hour for dinner that's still 8 bloody hours reading and a free evening !

Final year undergrad. I basically make Uni my 9-5 and then train after. Works fine.

Edit: During exam/essay time it's great to get away from the academic stuff and just lift.

To be fair, I had placement at the end of my 2nd year which was a 9-6 kinda gig and found that routine helped me s**t loads in terms of lifting... I was quite happy to work all day and hit the gym straight after! Granted I lived a 5 minute walk away from said work place so I could butcher up a fat scran pretty easily but I much preferred that to having the 6 deadlines in at once then none for a good few months routine...

I quit uni to lift weights full time and get a part time job. It seemed like a good decision at the time, 3 years and a few injuries later I am not so sure. My organisation skills were always crap so when I was at uni lifting suffered. Something had to give. I agree on the comments that working (especially something like door work with decent pay and not very long hours) suits the lifting lifestyle better. More money, more time and so on.
