May just try again next week. In other news the mother of one of our younger members gifted us a delicious lasagne, I was allowed to shovel a considerable amount of it into my fat face, and by the Lord Harry it was damned good. That's what I call kindness.

Every year the lads I used to work with have a christmas meal and kindly invite me along. Today was that day and a jolly time was had by all. As is usual these things take longer than anticipated and I got home well after four so there was little point leaving then and a Friday off will do no harm. As a result I watch an episode of the chase, and discover what "the Bryson Line" is. It is the longest straight line in the UK that can be travelled without crossing salt water, it runs from Cape Wrath in Scotland to Bogor Regis on the south coast, it is 569 miles in length. For reference the "as the crow flies" distance from Land's End to John o' Groats is 603 miles Bryson's readers are encouraged to walk all or part of its length to raise money for charity or just for fun.
