My standpoint on Nationals outside the North West isn't going to change. I was merely pondering the situation concerning regionals. It is highly likely that I will return, I just wish that the situation I was returning to was different. When I was a lifter, after my last deadlift I would always thank the loaders. On my way from the premises I would often thank them again, and if the referees were available I would thank them too. Do I do it for the thanks ? No of course not. But a smile and a thank you does go a long way. I am acutely aware that there are folk who do ten times the amount of work that I do and I do feel bad complaining when they do not. That does not alter the fact that I do feel that I have something (however minor) to complain about. They do not know it but it is the Kims and the Bryns and the DrRicks of the world that I kept me here as long as I have been, and it is also they who are the main reason for staying. I wonder is the emphasis on kindness of the last ten months has extended into the world of powerlifting. I do hope so. | ||

Arrived at the gym just as Mack and Mark were going for a romantic walk for a romantic sit in a romantic river. Almost tempted to give it a try so I can give it the comprehensive slagging it must surely deserve. Finally found out why the outside light wasn't working - some cretin had switched it off. If you could see where the switch actually is you would know that this could not have been an accident. It has to be deliberate. Why would anyone do such a foolish thing and not tell anyone ? Even if there was no one there they could have written large on the notice board in the other room. wa**ers ! | ||

Mark is a thirty second in and then get the hell out, then pause and repeat until he gets fed up type of guy and Mack just goes in and stays there for fifteen minutes or so. They claim it has both physical and mental benefits and healing properties. I have heard hen's fart before as the old saying goes. I really don't fancy it but I feel I should give it a go before bitterly regretting it and never doing it again. It is common knowledge that I loathe the outdoors with a passion, so the chances of this being the one outdoor pursuit that I don't hate is infinitesimal, but there is little point opening your mouth if you don't put your foot in it from time to time. So it is my intention to give it a try so I can then slag it off as the ludicrous past time it surely must be. Who knows, I may actually like it or at least feel some benefit from it. Whatever the outcome I will tell you what I beleive to be the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth, even if it is what I don't want it to be. By the by I have made a side bet with the Mackster that if I try this he will try something that he holds in the same regard as I hold sitting in rivers. I will not disclose what this is - that is up to Mack. Suffice it to say it is a powerful movtivation | ||
