Consider it a gift then rather than theft, and I hope you made a better fist of it than I did. I realize now that I underestimated just how bad I am at this and set the bar too high. Still I know know what I have to do

That makes unracking difficult leading to a less than ideal start position imo.

Since my one hand has swollen from past injury waking up I been playing chess online and defeating the computer. Do you play chess. The point is Iím good at many things but not great at any. F lifting and F to everything Iím not a champ at. Being good at many things is better than being the best at one! You know I donít believe that for a second! What Iím saying so what the bench isnít that great. You never pumped crap in your system either. So be it!

I don't Billy. I have probably only ever had a couple of games in my life. There was a chess club at school but only certain classes were allowed to join, the thicko class were very much discouraged.

I used to train with a friend who played and was rather good, back in the 80s he played postal chess, and once told me "I've got him Pete, I've got him, it's checkmate for sure in two, he can only resign".

The letter duly arrived, he opened it and read. He raised a saddened face and simply said the one word "Bugger"
"He hasn't resigned, I take it" I said
"No" my mate replied "He's moved his King, I didn't see that coming"
I then heard the gentle noise of one of my illusions being shattered.
Chess is not for me.

Wise words Billy. You are of course absolutely correct. Admitting to yourself that you are crap at something is a bitter pill to swallow, but it is a pill that has to be swallowed and is ultimately well worth swallowing.

My benching will become more enjoyable from here on in, may not much heavier, but more enjoyable for sure

Interesting you say that because I actually started it on exactly the same weights as you did, realized the bar was set too high and then lowered the whole thing by 20 whole Kilos.

Sometimes being to aggressively aggressive when you think things are good and the win is just a couple moves away, sometimes your mind may get the color messed up. I guess it's never get to comfort able or become fixated by it's magic. I'm happy our friendship is not a game nor a contest.

Wednesday, 12th June, start 16:15

Deadlift, no belt, no sleeves, slippers
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
60 x 5
100 x 3
120 x 3
140 x 3
160 x 5
170 x 4
180 x 3
190 x 2
200 x 1
160 x 5
All very smooth and pleasant enough. Knees happy and hands happy.

The battery has gone in the clock, so it has stopped in approximately 7:45 position. I noticed it pretty much straight away, and I have a battery to hand so come Friday all should be back to normal. Usually I keep an eye on the clock to keep a rough check on time between sets, of course there was no point tonight, but did that stop me ? Not in the slightest, if I looked at it once I looked at it twenty times.

You are to be commended that you noticed and had the good sense to change it. Sometimes the blindingly obvious is a difficult thing to see. Well played Sir

Whilst locking the door this morning I managed to hurt my wrist, how something so simple can transpire to be so awkward is beyond me, but we are where we are

Tbar row
20 x 10
30 x 10
40 x 10
50 x 10
60 x 10
70 x 10
80 x 10
80 x 10
70 x 10
70 x 10
60 x 10
60 x 10
No problem with the wrist

Pulldowns however did cause problems so none of those tonight.

Rod Stewart is at the Reebok tonight so traffic could have been horrendous, and it was bad but I just managed to keep away from it all, though it did get too close for comfort a couple of time. Home at the usual time.

Wrist is easier than it was this morning, so here's hoping for some improvement tomorrow

Yesterday at work we somehow got onto the song "There was an old lady who swallowed a fly" as is generally the case with these things we remembered the verses about the fly, spider, bird, cat and dog, then things got a little hazy.

I have just googled this and would you believe that there is a goat, a minister and a chuffin' rhinoceros in there. Of course we all remembered the horse that killed her. But the goat was largely forgotten and the rhinoceros I'm sure I never heard of before.

And a Minister ? What the chuff is that all about, fair enough it rhymes with "sinister" but he should be shown the door in my view. Eating animals is one thing, but members of the clergy is quite another kettle of fish.
