I was aware that page 1111 was approaching and I was planning to comment on its arrival. I do enjoy things like that.

Do you take notice of post counts?

I do. In life generally I seem to notice numbers. I thought it was normal until I found out otherwise.

For example, opposite the club there is a row of houses, and facing the door of the club there is a larger brick of a different colour with the date of build on it, it is 1894. One day during a discussion at the club it was revealed that half of the members had never noticed this brick and the other half had but did not know the date, only one fat oaf had done both. I was very surprised. It appears now that I was wrong to be surprised.

In another instance I once I asked one of the weightlifters how far she traveled to the gym, "Fourteen miles" came the answer but then Handsome Jeff pointed out that it was nowhere near that far. She then confessed that she had made that up and actually had no idea how far it was. I can't believe that a person could make a certain trip 150 or so times a year for several years and not know how far it was. It would appear that my disbelief, like my earlier surprise, was misplaced.

If you notice stuff like this Wayne then I like you a little bit more, and I already liked you a lot. Here's to us (raises invisible glass) Cheers !

Saw bearded, sunglasses, kagool guy this morning.

Sunglasses were gone, beard a little greyer and sporting a new hairstyle.

I was happy to see him

As horrible as ever.

Busy day tomorrow, errands to walk at home early doors, then to Bolton to pick up my newly altered refereeing trousers, then home to watch the cup final. I would quite like City to do the domestic treble but not as much as I would like the winnings from my bet on Watford to win in ninety minutes. So come on you Hornets and preferably don't take all day about it.Tongue

Back to Bolton this morning for newly shortened referee's trousers. Happy to report that pigeon activity was normal and there was no gingerbread man or men outside Greggs, nor anywhere else that I could see.

I realize that this is a pretty small sample size for research purposes but it will do for me.

There are protein heads that need their grams crackers. If they don’t get their grams they feel ripped off. While I text this a billygoat is smacking into his shed waking up the block for some sweet feed with a coating of molasses is on the table. Try saying that whilst holing your toungue. Anyways I got tired of chasing protein and the old man of 80 something just got done with a comp eats like a bird. Is chasing protein all day really worth it? I noticed the goat freaks out when I take the dog for a walk. He is a protein freak btw.

I think that's quite a complicated question Billy and becomes more complicated with age.

In my youth I could hoover up all the food that was ever put in front of me and never had to concern myself with getting fat, so I did concern myself with getting enough protein.

Now in my sixties (and for some time before) getting fat becomes the issue, or more properly for me not getting too fat) and enough protein becomes a secondary and minor issue.

With hindsight I suppose the trick is to spot the change coming and make the necessary amendments before it gets here. I never managed this, I was always reactive rather than proactive. I don't think it's an easy thing to do at all, mainly because we don't want the changes to happen, so we pretend they aren't for too long.

And on that cheery note I am reffing in a friendly, club comp in Wigan. They are always fun, there is food and it's not too far away.

Pretty much. I remember that from the first time around and I rather liked it then, so thanks for the memory. That was the only hit they had if I recall correctly.

"Now it's been ten thousand years, man has cried a billion tears, For what he never knew, But now man's reign is through"

Never thought back then that would be as prophetic as it reputedly is, and certainly never thought that I might live to see it.Unhappy

Monday, 20th May, start 16:00

Bench, very raw, squat boots on
20 x 20
20 x 20
20 x 20
50 x 5
60 x 5
70 x 3
80 x 3
90 x 2
100 x 2
110 x 2
115 x 2
120 x 2
125 x 1
125 x 1
Hugely disappointing, all was well up to the last set when I completely f**ked up the second rep. Did it again as a single to try to salvage what little pride I have left. It almost worked to.

Close grip
60 x 8
70 x 8
80 x 8
80 x 8
80 x 8
These were all on the slow side as I haven't done then for a while, well they are back now.

It may be prudent to reduce the increments from the intended five kilos to two point five. I saddens me deeply to have to resort to this but at least it might still work if I do it.

Bah ! bo***cks ! Bloody bench !
