Yeah, deadlift only comp so bit of a no brainer. Really chuffed that there is a proper YNE deadlift next year as well. Should be great for some PBs.

Man flu for last few days so just went through motions. Aching, high temp & headache...prob should have left it!

Well, training hasn't been going well recently so wasn't expecting tonight to be any different. Anyway, I was wrong!

Deadlifts

Singles

290kg PB!!

Was only supposed to go to 275 but it felt so easy so I thought I'd kick its arse whilst it was there!

Bench
60kg x 5

Paused singles:

160kg
Both singles really comfy. Really chuffed to say I've been training for a 10km run!

So, I got back from Ethiopia at 10.30 last night after competing in the Great Ethiopian Run on Sunday. Amazing experience and was so special to spend 5 days with people like Alastair Brownlee & Haile Gabrselassie. Even got to go to Haile's house for a party on sunday & met his family & Kenenesa Bekele! It really was an unbelievable experience & the start of something big as I'll be going back each year from now on. Anyway, wasn't expecting much from training tonight but it went ok.

Scott Chafer & Millsy came down to train with us which was great.

Had a few weeks of messing around running etc & really not trained squat properly. Definitely lost strength there so my aim is to really focus on the squat now.

Not trained at all in the past week due to work commitments. Did deadlift comp today & wasn't expecting a great deal but it went ok.

5 Towns December Deadlift Comp:

Was a really well run comp with 50 lifters. I decided to lift in the 83s as I couldn't be bothered dieting.
Weighed in at 77.5kg

1st: 265kg
2nd: 275kg
3rd: 282.5kg
All good lifts. First place in class & best lifter.

Now to try & get some training in over Xmas!

Finally starting to feel stronger again on squats! Maybe training once per week is the way forward!
