Good session tonight.

Deadlifts
Focused on speed & form. Paused & reset after each rep.
100kg x 5
130kg x 5
160kg x 5
190kg x 5
220kg x 5
220kg x 5
220kg x 5

Bench
Last rep of each set paused
60kg x 5
90kg x 5
120kg x 5
140kg x 5
150kg x 5 (didn't pause last rep on this set)
Very pleased with how my bench is going. Next comp is the British in oct so plenty of time to get the reps in.

I've started re setting between reps and find it harder than not resetting, how does it compare for you ?

Thanks mate. It's definitely harder but I think that's a good thing as hopefully it makes you stronger!

Had planned to go up to 190kg x 5 but it was feeling heavy tonight so stuck at 180. Still worked hard though so that's all that matters

On holiday in Bamburgh so found a timy gym in Seahouses called Valhalla...only open 6pm-9pm Monday to Friday. I was the only person in there but it was perfect for what I needed to do.

Deadlifts
60kg x 5
100kg x 5
140kg x 5
180kg x 5
220kg x 5
240kg x 8

Pretty sure this is some kind of rep PB. Failed due to grip but felt like I could have got another 1 or 2 reps out. Will go for 10 at this next time

Bench
Had to bench in a squat rack & the bar was well above my reach so had to get the owner to hand it down to me. Daren't go any heavier than 120kg so did plenty of reps
60kg x 5
100kg x 5
120kg x 12
120kg x 12
120kg x 12

Lat pull downs
95 kg x 8 (x3)

Low rows
85kg x 8 (x3)

Done!

I often try to find local gyms when I am on holiday. I always like training in new gyms.

Don't think my coach believed me when I told him I did 240 x 8 last week in holiday. Did as I was told & did 5 reps but they felt great. Felt like I could just keep repping! Deadlift seems to be on the up again!

Thanks mate. Since the world champs everything has felt heavy on deads. Guess I just needed to recover properly. Hopefully look a some rep PBs in the next few weeks. Aiming for 260 x 5 then 270 x 5 leading up to British champs in Oct

Was gonna do 3 sets at 180 but it was feeling heavy again tonight. Typical...deadlift & bench start improving & squat stalls! Why can't all 3 lifts feel good at the same time for once?!!
