Deadlift
Start of a new cycle so I've lowered weight and will increase it back up week by week.
100kg x 5
140kg x 5
180kg x 5
220kg x 3
240kg x 3

Bench
60kg x 5
80kg x 5
100kg x 5
120kg x 5
140kg x 8

Also got my invite to the IPF Classic in Sweden! Grin

All above with pause on last rep. Was going to work up to attempt 150kg x 5 but my hangover dictated how the session went! Decided to go back down to 120 to exhaustion.

brilliant lifting . Do you just train the main lifts or do assistance work.how do your cycles work and for how long . Good luck at the classic

Cheers Wellsy. I pretty much train the main lifts and there's no real science behind it. I do front squats & triceps as well. Bench & squat twice a week (one light, one heavy) and Deadlift once. I find that this works for me. In the past when I've increased the number of sessions I've ended up injured so recovery is important for me. Also, I've got a busy job and young family so don't have a great deal of spare time!

I tend to find that sets of 5 works for me. We work on an 8 week programme building up to comps. We drop to sets of 3 nearer the comp.

Deficit Deadlifts (6 inch platform)
60kg x 5
100kg x 5
140kg x 5
180kg x 14
100kg x 27

Never done these before so only planned to go to 180kg x 5 but once I got to 5 reps it felt easy so I carried on! Then for some reason I thought it kill myself by doing as many reps as possible with 100kg. Had serious oxygen debt afterwards & back was so tight I couldn't stand up straight!

Bench Press
60kg x 5
80kg x 5
100kg x 5
120kg x 5
All above with pause on last rep.
140kg x 8

Pleased with bench tonight as I felt knackered after the deads!

Coach decided we were doing them. I struggled to get 275kg off the floor a couple of weeks ago after doing a comfy 272.5kg the week before. Think it was more down to having a hard day rather than any problem off the floor. I quite enjoyed them though. Think it's good to mix things up.

Cheers mate. I'm lifting on the Wednesday so will fly out on Tues and back on Thurs. I live 2 miles from Leeds Bradford Airport and can fly from there straight to Stockholm so it should work out well. Hope your training is going well.
