Aiming for a 250 squat by the end of 2012 Member 1989, 3168 posts SQ 240, BP 140, DL 270650.0 kgs @ 90kgs UnEq | Post Edited: 31.12.2012 @ 15:26 PM by shortandmighty Right, so 2013 is just about upon us so I thought I should start a new log.Let's summarise 2012 - Goals 3x b/w deadlift, 250 squat and to win something. Were they achieved - no!! 2 of them almost. managed to hit 267.5kg deadlift before straining left Sartorius. Managed 2nd place on countback at Northern Naturals U90 qualifier. Only matched my PB on squat before injury. Comp Results: Results first timers (March) 4th place losing out on 3rd by 1/2 point Fraserburgh Blue Light Comp (April?) 3rd Place and deadlift event win. Northern Natty qualifiers u90 (June) 2nd place. Tied on points lost out on countback. SSM u90 (August 5th) 5th place. Underperformed, esp. on pressing. (Injured right forearm) Britain's Natural Strongest man finals (August 25th/26th) 9th Overall. Really below best form. Results, Somebody cares charity open (October) Last place. First open comp and wasn't last in everything. Goals for 2013: 280 Deadlift (aim to hit this at 1st comp in April) 250 Squat/ 220x10 reps 120 Log 120 FTOH Do more stretching, conditioning, dynamic work. Comps so far: Results U90kg April 7th? SSM U90kg April 28th Europe's Strongest Man U90kg Scots Qualifier June Also aiming to do Scots U105kg Apart from that I'll see what takes my fancy, hopefully one or two english comps to, and meet some of the other lads. | ||

That's a bit of an insane goal isn't it? Thanks Rodger. I think 220x10 is achievable since I am going to be concentrating on building up the reps in my squat rather than trying to go for 1rpm. I have tripled it in the past and feel confident I can again in a short space of time. Thanks Faz. | ||

Starting 531 on Monday so just had a mess about. Deadlift 70x10 120x6 160x6 200x3 230x3 250xf Wasn't really expecting to get it. 210x5 SLDL 170x5 x3 Shrugs 200x6 x3 Kroc Rows 60x8 x3 Leg raises with red band. Not bad at all. Going to try to add in a dynamic exercise in every session to aid mobility, whether that band resistance work, high rep work or movement based. | ||

Everything that could be wrong was! Standing long jumps x10 Farmers Walk 60kg 20m downhill 20m uphill (down and then up the drive, pretty steep) 100kg 15m downhill, 15m uphill 100kg 20m down, 20m up. Bench Bar x20 70x10 90x6 100x5 x3 Reverse Band close bench 70kg +band x10 x3 Not bad considering did deadlifts last night. Wraps work well, although I never had the 230. Rushed the unrack and was unsteady then form was terrible and no commitment. | ||

Dumbell 25x6 35x5 45x4 50x3 Left only 55x4 Left only Bent my handle, oops. Loading (all to 43") Keg(100kg) x3 Sandbag (100kg) x3 Keg/bag 3m run in Keg/bag 5m run in x3 105kg dumbell, 100kg Keg, 100kg sandbag 5m run in x2 Sandbags are hard work, but perversely enjoyable. Need a bit of work on the pick up, but I think these could be good for me. Hamstrings are fried now. | ||

I have a feeling it will be a long time before I'm ready to even attempt a triple atm. Just couldn't seem to get log at all, strength was there and power was there but didn't seem able to apply it. | ||

Strict press 40x6 45x6 50x6 55x5 60x5 70x5 Felt really hard, shoulders probably tired from Sunday still Push press 70x5 80x5 90x5 Power cleans Power clean (trying to work on technique) 60kg x alot 70x5 80x2 Felt pretty good and fast. Pull ups 50 In blocks, ended up doing doubles for last few. Tricep dips 12 B/w 15 reverse band Ok I suppose. Felt pretty weak on the pressing, clean technique is getting better but kept going dizzy if I tried to do more than 2. | ||
