Taking place on sat 28th July in Bolton town centre, on the opening day of the Olympics, we expect upto 3000 visitors throughout the day in this free community event. 5 athletes from our hometown ( competing for the Boltons strongest man title.) 2 more needed to compete for the 'rest of the UK' title. EVENTS,... Giant railway sleeper farmers - 140kg each hand, 40mtrs, drop and turn @ 20 mtrs. Hand over hand - vehicle over 15 mtrs, quickest time (approx 4 tonnes..) Axle C&P - 130kg, max reps, 90 secs. Carry & Load - 110, 120, 130 sandbags, 10 metre 'carry' onto 5ft loading platform. This is an amazing day, heavily promoted and lots of local media interest.
