Competition Information

The Alan Fairclough Memorial Celebration of Strength.

To mark the passing of Alan Fairclough, the legendary lifter and coach of Adlington Barbell Club we are running an Adlington Push and Pull.

Lifters will choose two of the four available lifts to take part in, the lifts are:

Snatch
Bench Press
Two Hands Anyhow
Deadlift

- Snatch will be to BWL rules.
- Bench Press will be to GBPF rules (equipped or unequipped)
- Two hands anyhow is what is says. Two hands bar from floor to overhead however you see fit.
- Deadlift will be to strongman rules (hitching allowedm suits allowed, no straps)

A formula to decide winners will be announced prior to the day, but the day is all about lifters putting in 100% effort and celebrating the memory of someone who loved the passion that runs through the 'iron game'.

Weather permitting there will be food available via an Adlington BBQ.

It also looks like there could well be some raffle prizes up for grabs courtesy of a couple of kind sponsors.

Entry fee for lifters will be £5

All proceeds from the day will go towards Adlington Barbell club funds to help fund much needed roof repairs and hopefully help safeguard the future of Alan Fairclough's legacy, Adlington Barbell!!!
