i just thought that the under 90k Scotlands strongest man was supposed to be held with the same esteem as the others but clearly not!!!
and just to point out these where all viable questions, all asked in a polite and non agressive manner, on what was supposed to be a discussion fourm

but it is quite clear when some people dont have any real answers its a case of

"dont come on here and trash my thread by asking questions about the comp on the comps thread"

"who are you to make demands by asking genuine questions"

"keep your silly comments that we cant answer with any relelant answers for another thread"

one rule for one and one for another guys !!!!!!

i am sorry to have taken up your time

For what it's worth mate, I think the discussion has been very interesting and some valid points have been made. I also agree that you have conducted yourself / asked questions in a very open non aggressive manor.

Yeah macca I used to do these! Stopped when my flexibility was okay!

Tried then last night with a broomstick! It just wasn't happening!
Could only get my arms behind my eyes! And then BAM! Pain!!!!

No worries mate,

Try doing them with a towel or some resistance bands. These have the benefit of have a little give in them which makes the movement a little easier.

You may have to wait for the inflammation to go down before you try again....

Hell yes!
But on a serious note does anyone know anything to get flexibility in shoulders?
Since they are a little bigger its restricted movement?

Disconnects mate - I do them as a warm up for every session and they have turned my shoulders from being very tight to being quite flexible (I low bar squat with quite a narrow grip without any issues which was impossible when I first switched to low bar)

Basically you get something straight and fairly light (broom handle is good, you can also use a rolled up towel to start with), place your hands quite wide on it and rest it on your thighs (standing up). Then simply rotate you stick / towel over your head until it's behind you back (level with the top of your arse give or take) without bending your arms at the elbow.
Rotate it back and you've done a rep Happy

As you do more reps, gradually bring your hands closer together until you're at max stretch and rep out.

I generally do 50 at a time - it's hard work but since I've been doing them (a couple of years now) I've gone from having constant shoulder niggles to having zero problems Happy

I'll see if I can find a vid for you.

Edit - found you a vid - not listened to the audio but the exercise is the same
