the one with a meathead gym in Burnley Member 420, 209 posts | just watched the video and noticed how he rolls the bar towards him before picking the weight up, this is the 3rd person now I have seen doing this. Is it just personal preference or is there a reason for it. Im just curious as like everyone else i am always looking to improve my lift!

Old Age Presser Member 75, 8089 posts SQ 0, BP 200, DL 200400.0 kgs @ 105kgs Eq | I think the theory is that if the bar is moving it has some momentum and it's easier to lift a bar that's already in motion than a bar which is completely 'dead'. As to whether it works or not, possibly it's psychological - but then the mind is a powerful tool. I guess if you can lift more doing it then it works for you.

I remember Benni M saying that when he was in a tight suit it allowed him to get into a better starting position too.

Weird injury specialist - now with funny groin Member 283, 1648 posts | I've tried it a few times. If I get the timing right it does work, if I get it wrong it messes up the lift.
