MarkClegg said:You could argue the under 90kgs has become far more popular than 105kgs .

There`s less of a incentive to move up categories so athletes are sticking around and defending titles etc .

I never disputed that the scene is booming especially among the athletes that compete in it, I only really meant from a promotion point of view .

If anyone seen this years Giant LIVE in Doncaster Dome . That's where I imagined that we would be at with u90kgs by now . The crowd, The format, The T.V

That's all I mean - I don`t want it to come across negative at all . Its a naivety on my part when i thought under90kgs was going to be a lot bigger that's all i mean .

I didn't take it negatively, just constructively, I agree that it can progress into that, crossfit has gone from car parks to sold out stadiums in 7 years, no reason strongman can't follow, the opens are certainly helping us as they're now selling out stadiums!

With 24 hour weigh ins thought we'd see some skinny 105's drop down but don't think that's been the case.

I always thought that it would be a good idea to combine the opens and 90's comps at the top level.

For example, the Doncaster Dome comp already mentioned, why not have the 90's on before hand? same events just adjust the weights? I know people would see it as playing second fiddle to the big boys but it would be a start and give good exposure and i can see the likes of Colin Brice getting excited on the commentary by the weights the 90's are lifting in copmparison to the opens who in some cases would weigh twice as much.

Just my 2 pence worth.

Great minds think alike, I've thought the same, maybe James Ward could do both comps on the same day, opens then u90kg, hopefully he'll be really tired!

Always tried to get him to have a go at the opens, unfortunatly injuries always struck at the wrong time. I think he would upset a good few of the big names.

I know there is a comp Loz is involved in organising early next year in Kent with some huge names competing. Its comps like this i think the 90's could be incorporated into.

Yea, we could be the warm up act! I'm going to try and find a show to tag on to for another international u90kg comp for next year, going to be a humdinger!

With mixing categories as u said,u90s with opens..I think this is a good ides and have mentioned this to one of the Lads who compères in Welsh opens...

With Welsh now held over two days, the u90s could fit inbetween or before it...

Defo a good idea, especially if it get us more exposure

I didn't think 90's had 24 hour weigh-ins?

This year England's, Euros and the United Strongman World's had early weigh ins, so will the SCL comps

OK, so the big comps do, but the smaller comps (including the qualifiers) don't? Seems a bit odd, that.
