I started on the core work tonight, my Mrs gave me a few exercises. 3-5 sets of plank with a medium power bag on the lower back and then up-down plank, felt the burn on every set.

I did it after warm up and before a 5k run.

VG - is it better in a warm up or after main workout before cool down?

Generally my session plan is:

Warm up
Power
Strength
Assistance (includes core and corrective)
Cool down

I would need to have specific reasons to deviate from this for most of my athletes.

I think I'm lacking badly in this area - could this be helping towards my terrible strict press....?!

What's the best core targeting excises? guessing crunches wont cut it!
