120 x 3
140 x 3
140 x 3
140 x 3
140 x 3
140 x 3
All deeply deep and Kool and the gang. Happy knees as well, if they keep this level of merriment until Monday then that nights workout may assume an unexpected level of interest, then again, it may not

Boots and sleeves stay on

Deadlift
60 x 3
100 x 3
140 x 3
160 x 3
180 x 3
180 x 3
180 x 3
Enjoying the boots much better than the pumps, still getting used to the new position as the second set was done rather in the manner of a man at sea, but the first and third were just fine. It is also very difficult to make minor adjustments to foot position, in pumps you could just slide the feet a fraction but with these you cannot, the foot has be raised and then replanted. No big deal, but it is better to get it right first time

Remedial, knee tracking top inch leg extensions
10 x 8
10 x 8
10 x 8
10 x 8
10 x 8

Quiet weekend ahead. It is my intention to rewatch the third series of Peaky Blinders, before starting on series four which was shown on Wednesday. Six episodes at around fifty minutes each is three hundred minutes or five hours. It should be an enjoyable afternoon.

Sunday, 19th November, start 12:40

Had to put some air in the tyres due to climatic changes. It is cold

Bench, very raw
20 x 10
20 x 10
20 x 10
50 x 5
60 x 5
70 x 5
80 x 5
all paused now
90 x 2
90 x 2
90 x 2
90 x 2
90 x 2
90 x 2
All smooth enough, just Glynn and Turner to start with but Joe the Terrible appeared later, away for pork, mushrooms and mash later and then home.

Got through five episodes of Peaky Blinders series three yesterday and very good it was as well, watched the sixth and final episode this morning and after a couple of races from Cheltenham and Fontwell (where the chase course is a figure of eight) I will start on series four.

For the record the only flat course in the UK which is a figure of eight is Windsor

I may give up gambling.

Not altogether but certainly as a regular Saturday feature.

I started back in '88. the same year as I gave up drinking. In those days I would walk to the bookies, hand over cash and if I won, I would return and be given cash as winnings, walking out of a bookies with a fistful of folding money is one of life's great pleasures.

Then online gambling came, with guaranteed prices and other incentives so I had to make the move and create an account. The big negative to this was there was no longer the physical pleasure of winning, you just got some numbers in your account and you could delay "topping up" for a week or a month longer.

Recently I have noticed that gambling is no longer as much fun as it used to be, and a couple of 50-1 winners placed the account in a very healthy place, but week by week the money has drained away and the fun just has not been enough to justify it.

I am now in the situation where I should top up the account and I haven't, I could not bring myself to do it. I have enough in there for one last Saturday - the 25th, and then assuming I don't win I will have to inject more cash and I don't really think I will. It all hinges on the fun factor of next week and I really don't think it will be enough, even if I win.

Racing is on its final warning, there have been some high old times, most memorable was Sibton Abbey winning the 1992 Hennessy gold Cup at Newbury. My only ever 100-1 winner, I can re-live those final four fences at will as fresh and as clear as they were on the day. With hindsight I should have stopped then.Unhappy

Good on you. Just remember to do something else to replace it, lest you become an ex shill, non plunging, lotus eater. That would never do. Or would it? Happy

All felt good tonight and got Handsome Jeff to depth nazi for me, he called them all well in and each as good as the other which is a delight as we all know that so often the first is a shade dodgy. Delighted with these tonight, neither hard nor heavy, they made as happy than any other set this year. If I get get a set as good as this with two twenty I might just consider competing again. No promises but I might

Top inch extensions for knee tracking purposes

10 x 8
10 x 8

And that will do it. Away into a cold dark night but with hope in my heart, a smile on my face and a spring in my step

Because, as mentioned in the post there were incentives to on-line betting that did not apply to cash betting the the shops, guaranteed prices being the main one

I will never be an ex shill and I will always plunge, just with far less regularity than I do now, but the eating of the lotus defeated me, so I had to google, my passion for hedonism has never been in doubt so it appears that I have been eating loti without even knowing it

Happy

I appear to have made something of a rick, last Wednesday was 110 x 5, the week before was 117 x 5 and the one before that was 122 x 3.

I never actually meant to do two weeks of consecutive fives, so should I do fives tomorrow (for the hat-trick) or threes ? Or maybe a chance at a single or two ?

I'll see what tomorrow brings

Indeed. Slang for mistake, similar to "my bad" but suggestive of a more prolonged, relaxed paced error rather than a spur of the moment thing.

I will research the origins though I suspect it may prove fruitless.
