At the weekend I will be moving back home and need to find a decent gym in the local area. I will be living in Thames Ditton which is about 2 miles from Kingston but have a car so transport isn't really a problem. The only gym I have found so far is St Mary's in Twickenham. Has anybody got any other suggestions.

Thanks

Chris

There's Physical Culture in Putney. Supposed to be a very well equipped facility. Tiny bit pricey (IMO) at £50pcm rolling, or £40pcm annual.

if u r in thames ditton go to physique warehouse in molesey - 5 mins from hampton court - close to thames ditton.

physique warehouse, strongman/bodybuilders train there, got the platforms for deadlift squat,, big weights, hammer strength kit.

http://www.bodybuildingkit.com/Our-Gym

http://www.payasugym.com/gyms-in-london/physique-warehouse-gym...

they have a facebook page for physique warehouse - bodybuildingkit webpage is for their nutrition/valeo belts etc. etc.

For a strongman session try Liketolift in Redhill just a couple of stops round the M25.

We have tyre and stones outdoors and farmerms walk frame and yolk and log 80k can add weights to all equipmen can be used indoors or outdoors.

I train on a Sunday at 10 every other week and Saturday 10 ever other week with my guys if you fancy it. We always have chalk in gym and I carry tacky with me as well.

I also train with women and people of all abilities some come down and have a goHappy

Due to being on the road every day in my job, trying to get round the m25 is a mission, and the a3 can be a b**ch too.

Physique warehouse IS the best gym closest to kingston for "hardcore" workouts..

If you want to try somewhere else close to kingston pinks gym carshalton

http://www.pinksgym.com/ = carshalton, not far from kingston, but getting through sutton can be a mission - but again a PROPER gym and you can do pay as you go

Further a field if you are on the road and want to "mix it up" - maximums slough (the new one)

https://www.facebook.com/MaximumsMuscleGym/info?ref=stream - can't find their website - again hardcore gym £4 pay as you go.

If you want to workout where the london harlequins train and right on the a3 a quick drive from kingston - guildford sports park - 8 hammer strength power racks for bench/squat/deadlift - platforms - membership only - no pay as you go.

http://www.surreysportspark.co.uk/ = guildford

I do ALOT of driving during the week and train in 2 different gyms...

Physique Warehouse also does a great deal of 5 visits for £25. or a months membership for £40/50, 1st visit free - I don't work there/have no ties, I just know my gyms !!!

Lived round this area for years and hate driving far/getting stuck in traffic when trying to workout.

Good luck wherever you land up.

They all look like great gyms. It does seem to me that I'll end up going to physique warehouse as people seem to rate it highest as well as it being the closest to where I live.

CC - I checked out Physique Warehouse in Molesely - are you joining? One train from near work, might go down to try them out. 30mins travel either way, but only one train.

I actually ended up joining St Mary's today as I got a 4 month deal which only cost me £100 which for South West London is incredibly cheap.
