Training today:

Box jumps (eccentric + concentric):

30cm box 3 x 15

Deadlifts (hook grip, no belt):

100kg x 5
140kg x 5
160kg x 3
180kg 4 x 1

Front squat:

80kg x 2
100kg x 1
120kg x fail - blacked out
120kg x 1
140kg x fail

was advised to do the jumps to warm up to help with my knee pain and it really seemed to do the trick. didnt feel any knee or back pain through the session which im happy with. could definately use this kind of thing for cardio too.

session went to s**t from there though. deads were in the comfort zone but felt way heavier than they should. not been feeling 100% recently and ive come up with loads of spots on my arms and legs so im thinking I have or have had a virus or something.

fronts felt comparatively strong but my bar placement wasnt right and I blacked out with 120. legs went to jelly after that and I felt myself going on the 140 so dumped it.

crappy session but at least im squatting and deadlifting pain free. things can only get better from here (I hope lol).

cheers dan but it sucked big time. should be repping 180 deads easily.

neil - I dont know my arse from my elbow with this stuff and thats probably not the right way to describe what I was doing. basically I was jumping up onto the box and then jumping straight off the other side. jump turn and then repeat.

I know s**t mate. my cousin showed me yesterday. hes got a masters in sport something and knows about this stuff. I just did what he told me. seemed to work though so im sold on it!

lol im a converted jumper!

Training today:

Depth jumps:

30cm/73cm boxes 4 x 6

Box jumps:

73cm box x 2
78cm box x 2
81cm box 4 x 6

Wide grip chins:

BW x 5
BW + 5kg x 5
BW + 10kg x 7

Hanging leg raises:

BW x 10
BW + 3kg x 10
BW + 6kg x 10

enjoyed the jumps the other day so I did a bit of research on plyometrics and had a bash today. could do with a higher box really but my setup was getting a bit precarious. think theyll be useful for getting something done without nailing my lower back.
