reflects well on shaw, but is also quite worrying, as they are unlikely to be so heavily stacked in Z favour next year

I hope we dont have a 2-3 year period of Shaw/Jenkins dominating proceedings as the top 2!

how close was terry to that 442k deadlift?, did loz feel he could have improved anything?, and can shaw be beaten next year?
i must admit the last couple of days have been awesome entertainment on this thread big thanks to all the guys who kept the updates coming.

Big Z is my hero and i am gutted he did not make it 3 in a row, but as i said yesterday fair play to shaw, if you look at the events they where stacked in Z fave, no keg toss, medleys or arm over arm, so shaw took him at his own game.
shaw was unlucky a couple of times last year and to lose title on countback is tough, so this year the gods sided with him, as make no mistake had jenks and katona been fit i think they would have got 5 or more reps in log giving big Z that cusion going into the stones

really happy for terry and Loz, what a great pair of top level athletes that many strongmen in britain can learn from and aspire to be like
i can remember the days when the Brits use to go to worlds and make up the numbers, this year going into the last day of the heats 4 out of 5 where sitting in qualification positions, we got 2 in the final and one on the podium, we just need a champion now, but the future is bright

other than possibly Thor, I can't see anything other than this happening

change in an arm over arm, and one other tall guy event, and those 2 will be MILES ahead

I honestly think Loz could win this within the next 2-3 years if he keeps on improving at the rate he has been. He'll be on the podium next year, you saw it here first lol

No doubt he's improving immensley, but itas going to be hugely difficult to get close to the genetically gifted freaks Jenkins & Shaw

There will be others will come out of the woodwork too. Jenkins only really came on the scene recently, and I believe Thor can be a threat in future. He is 21, he won the truck pull and came 2nd on stones.

I could end up like the Ufc, guys that don't quite make the grade in the NFL now take up MMA cause they generally have the physical attributes to do well

Strongman will get the NBA guys that don't make the grade

Two Brits in the final 4. Says a lot about our strength. Well done to them both.

How tall is Z? 6ft 3"

How many of us think we'll ever see a guy (Z excluded) under 6ft5" win WSM again?

I suppose that could depend on if they change events, which they might. This years has gone heavier and more static, maybe we'll see a change to events which don't always favour the tallest guys?

think he is 6ft 3

Unless there is a big change in event structure again, I can't see anyone sub 6ft 5" and 170kgs getting close

other than Big Z, but again, change some events, and he won't be close

not just tall, but heavy

in years gone bye you had to trade off size against the tough medleys you would have to do

in this years final, there was no reason not to be as heavy as possible

Big Z - 6ft 3
Shaw - 6ft 8
Bjornsson - 6ft 9
Jenkins 6ft 6
Lox 6ft 2
Hollands 6ft 6
£Note - 6ft 1
Jack Mack 6ft 3????? he was tall when i met him
Ervin Kantona 6ft 1
Stefan Solvi Peterssun 6ft 5

i would like to think that Loz would have a chance of winning some day as well as Terry but with shaw, Bjornsson Jenkins Hollands in the game its a Big Boys game now.
