I may not even get to go, I've got a squad session the day before so it depends if I can get out of that or not. there's always the british unequipped champs as well if everything goes to plan at the north wests?

Grin would like a go at making the unequipped deadlift record higher than the equipped record as well, would i get both records for doing that?

That's pretty crazy progress on your squats! If you get another 30kg in a couple of months that'll be amazing and I will be really jealous of your progress! It's definitely possible though from what I've seen happen to my deadlifts... I'll be pulling 350 by then!

300 bags of sugar Wink I'll just have to impress them enough in the first squad session that they won't need to see me do a 2nd one. I really am looking forward to this, it'll be a shame if I have to miss it. I have a couple of beginner friends who want to do it as well, so there could be quite a few of us in the 82.5's!

lol it'll be so daft if the unequipped record is higher than the equipped though. 350 in may is a bit optimistic, If I put on another 10kg to my equipped by then and pull 330, maybe 315-320 might be possible unequipped, i don't know how much I get out of the suit, it helps off the floor but I'm good off the floor anyway and s**t at lockout, so it might just mean i have a harder time off the floor but still manage to lock it out unequipped.

I bet I'd get 340 up to my knees equipped, but until I strengthen my lockout I'm not going to get what i csn out of the suit. FWIW, your pulls look pretty similar to mine, I bet if you fail it's not because you couldnt move it off the floor.

yeah mine fly off the floor and stick just above my knee .my biggest problem is i dont push through with my hips and it just stops lol the lock out takes for ever . thats if i dont let go of the bar lmao

Same as me then, I've been struggling for months, working just the top end in an ideal back position, changing things off the floor to help me get into a better position to lockout, but in the end (last 4 weeks) I've just decided I'm going to f**k all that, stick to doing what I do and get stronger doing it! My lockouts will always be slow, but if I get stronger they can be slow with an extra 50kg on the bar.

The problem with being a skinny guy deadlifting, is you're just not going to be throwing around 700 lbs at the top half of the lift like the bigger guys. It's all well and good practicing getting into a perfect position off the floor to help your lockout with lighter weights, but when you get over 300kg you're probably going to find yourself on the losing end of a fight with the bar when it comes to maintaining perfect form. So you end up pulling the way youve always been strongest, but your training won't help you because you'll have been practicing in a different position than you find yourself in once it gets heavy.

you said earlyer in your log that straight leg deads have helped you alot im thinking of trying them every other week . i see what your saying its all wel and good training to get perfect form and you probably could do it . but once u get a weight on that bar u have never done before then form kinda goes out the window and you resort to any means to get bar locked out lol

yep, and if the way youve been practicing isn't the way you're doing it when it gets heavy, then you're not going to be strong enough because you've not trained yourself in that position.

On the other hand if you resort to some pretty bad back rounding you MIGHT get hurt... I never have, but it depends if you want to play 'bad back roulette' or not.

Box Squats completely unequipped

bar x 5
75kg x 5
125kg x 5
155kg x 5
185kg x 1

trying on new suit

200kg x 1
210kg x 4 - missed the 5th one, felt plenty strong for it but fell backwards at the bottom and couldn't recover the form. Probably tried to sink it a bit too much.

100kg x 3

Add shirt, comp commands

130kg x 3 - 3 board
140kg x 1 - 1 board
155kg x 1 - touch
167.5kg x 1 - touch, new pb

Straight leg deadlift

75kg x 5
125kg x 5
175kg x 5
210kg x 5 - =pb I think, could've repped it all day as well...

Got a few videos to post up later on too
