BWLA All English Powerlifting Championships

Got there at half 10. Watched some of the womens lifting. Got my kit checked, slyly weighed myself before the weigh in, fully dressed...108.1kg. Dickhead, shouldve eaten a lot more. Official weigh in was 106.9kg.

Squat
(warm ups... bar x many, 60x5, 105x3, 145x1)
170x1
180xF (video looked as if I would get this rep, then the bar just wouldnt move)
180xF (same as 2nd lift)

vexed to say the least...was expecting 180 at the very least considering i doubled it easily before my holiday.

Bench
(warm ups...bar x many, 60x5, 85x3, 105x1)
120x1
130xF (failed on locking it out)
130xF (couldnt even budge it off my chest)

again...WTF. did 120x5 + 1 pause easily 2 weeks ago. I have been ill since but still...

Deadlift

(warm ups...60x5, 100x4, 140x2, 180x1)
220x1
230x1
235xF (had nothing left in the tank to move this)

Was a very well run competition IMO despite it massively running over, but I think that was testament to how many people turned up, rather than anything else. Special thanks to Ben "Tricky" Burgess (who is a top bloke and did very well IMO, not his) and his team for giving me some sound advice throughout, even helping giving my lifts in before the time limit, filming my lifts and talcing me up.

Video to come soon most likely, once my computer fancies working again. Was good to meet a lot of the lads off here as well

nice to meet you mate! too bad you failed some lifts you should have got but i guess it all adds to comp experience! my holiday fooked me up too! seemed to loose a fair chunk of speed by the time i came home

well thank you for the kind words RoyRoy. I have to say i was quite surprised at your sqaut warmups, i think a last jump of 25 kg is very big for a 170 opener but if it works for you...

You are a big lad, plenty potential there mate and thanks for doing some of our vids.
