JC - What you say is correct, i could do those things. But its a bit like wanking without blowing your load. BUT honestly, would you bother carrying on without being able to Press/DL/Front?

Two more beastly sessions on the events above and your good too go. Not any, if many will beat you on arm-arm, frame and stones...frame especially, its an awesome event for you

f**king leave the negative mindset to people who haven't acheived what you have so far!


Robbo you need the willsan Training Method of 95% events. would be a big change from the stuff your doing and could well say the knees elbows and back.

Mate, you seem to forget I didnt OH or BB Squat for about 2-3 months in the winter as my shoulder was f**ked.......just sfaety bar work and rehab!!!!

I think you press too much for someone with a bad shoulder IMO. Twice a week in reality is too much for me, I need to painkiller up to the eye balls to get throught the 2nd one

I would try pressing once every 10 days after the comp....see how it is

f**king right, i would and do continue, James continues with a dodge shoulder, willsan continues with a back problem that flares up, Big mick continues with a back problem, Joni got surgery on his shoulder and came back to ben better than before his surgery, John Mills continues even though he depresses all the time with his training and is secretly the dark horse, so if we can all keep going you can to mate. a different approach fro a while might be the answer

What did I tell you when we were talking about THE ROUTINE?

People put too much emphasis, especially you, and especially with the UK's being what it is, on PRESSING.
There is 1 pressing event, and usually no more than that. There is a lot more to being a strongman that f**king pressing, and it has NO carryover to any other events except pressing events, so it really is not important, except for that 1 event of 8.

And sore knees, even I have sore knees. If its a problem do wider stance box squats and never go olympic style again, end of story. 90% of the squatting world has sore knees, you make the decision to change it, take the pain, or be a c**t and not squat and say leg press is better anyway. And if you can squat in wraps pain free, its clear what you have to do.

And when was the last comp where your back let you down on deadlifting? Its been a while since you injured it right?

If everyone crumbled in the face of adversity noone would f**king get anywhere.

Fact of the matter is, its no fun at all.

Like u say JC, no pressing at all aint fun. Spent ages not pressing already. No deads and other related movements aint fun. No fronts aint fun.

Not being able to do compound movements to capitalise on my strength and get to where I want to be aint fun.

But thanks fellas, you don't have to listen to this whiney c**t so its very much appreciated

Training Yesterday

Squats - No Belt

60kg x 8,6
100kg x 5
140kg x 3
180kg x 6 - Put on wraps tight below the knee, falling off above the knee. Stopped tendons hurting
180kg x 5 - Wraps off. Glad they made no difference

Bicep Curls x 8 sets

Side Raises x 10x10

Plate Raises 20,20

Abs x loads

Cross Trainer x 10 mins

Yes mate. I just wrap them tight below the knee, over the patellar tendon, then extremely light over the rest so it gives me nothing but protects the knees.
