He's too small, too light and lacks the static strength required nowadays. His first win was in 2002, last one 2008. Been a while, but there are a LOT of guys who are much bigger. Thor and Shaw loading a heavy stone to a lower platform which would be relatively MUCH higher for Pudzian, plus they're about 60kg heavier, have much bigger deadlifts......

Good point there about bigger guys also being a lot taller as well as statically stronger. I heard that Pudz was only around 120K nowadays and he didn't look much more in that vid. Hope he stays retired and has a good chance of still being seen by many people as the greatest strongman of all time. (Have I just opened another can of worms with that last comment? )

I think it would be fair to say that had he continued he would have improved much like everybody lse has and so may have remained just as competitive and won again, but we will never know!

He dominated Arnolds and WSM, Pudz only done the latter. Fantastic Athlete and was always my favourite non brit (probably partly to the way he looked). He is still the strongman most of my mates know. They don't know or care for Big Z, they always mention the big ripped Polish guy if the subject pops up.

To give an example, man united have won the premier league 13 times, man city have won it 2 times. City are currently the best team, united are the best team the premier league has seen. As there is more than one belt to compete for, and you don't always fight the best opponents. In strongman, you always have to compete against the best to be worlds strongest man. In boxing there could be 5 'heavyweight champions' at any one time. There can only be one worlds strongest man
