Hello mate,

Not sure exactly, the blocks are 6-8" but we also stand on a 1.5 - 2" rubber mat.

The bar ends up being mid shin I guess - I'll work it out properly for next time

86.5kg when I woke up this morning mate - I can't get too much heavier as I'm competing @ 82.5 at the WDFPA worlds in November.

It is nice to turn up to a comp without my normal water manipulation routine - I think that I would really struggle with a strongman comp if I'd dropped my usual 4-5kg over night Eek

Monday 02nd August 2010 - Bench / Assistance - Ralls

No mojo today - just didn't seem to click into top gear Unhappy

However, training in a group still made for a good session for me Happy

Bench Press
  • 60kg x 10
  • 110kg x 5
  • 125kg x 3
  • 135kg x 3
  • 147.5kg x 3 - PB

    2 Board Press from here

  • 150kg x 3
  • 155kg x 3
  • 160kg x 2

Incline Bench Press
  • 115kg x 5
  • 115kg x 5

Machine Flyes
  • 12 plates x 10
  • 12 plates x 10

Close Grip Bench Press (hands about 8" apart)
  • 115kg x 3 (Failed 4th)
  • 110kg x 4
  • 110kg x 3

Standing French Press (ez bar)
  • 30kg x 8
  • 30kg x 6
  • 30kg x 5

Dips
  • 2 lots of chains x 6
  • 2 lots of chains x 6
  • 2 lots of chains x 6
  • bw x 6

Bench seems to be going well at the moment 147.5kg for 3 is an encouraging sign.
It also looks like I'm getting some triceps power as I normally fail a bench about 4" off my chest - I stalled on the 3rd rep but just squeezed the bar hard and my Tri's finished the lift of for me Happy

Also measured the height of the blocks used for deadlifts. The blocks are 7.5" and the mats are 1" meaning the plates are off 6.5" the floor.

The bottom of the bar is normally 8.25" off the floor so the final set up gives a height of 14.75" to the bottom of the bar.
