It's likely to be a Friday night, unless I have a holiday from work, when things get a bit warmer and lighter, I don't think he opens at the weekend.

Billwest said:Sorted! 220kg, brilliant mate, knew it was there for the taking. Now if you lose some weight and a bit of strength its not such a big deal. For me 220 was (and is, dammit!) a bigger goal than 500 pounds cos its 5 plates.

The 5 plates did look impressive on the bar Bill but 500 lbs is still the goal for me, I'm after the 400/300/500 total. I've had a 300 lb bench and I'm slowly working my way towards a 400 lb squat.

I had to stop there as my back went on the last rep at 140. It's a very old injury that I thought had gone for good but I aggravated it by losing my balance and leaning forward on the way up. Not sure how long it will take to heal as this is the first time it's actually gone while training, very painful now though.

Managed to train tonight but it was a bodybuilder type chest and triceps routine, lots of 3 x 8 type stuff.
Flat benching is out of the question for now as it's too painful/risky but hammer strength machines are ok as they support my lower back.
Deads and squats are also obviously on hold for the foreseeable.

I did some rehab work tonight for my back with hi rep squats as per the Bill Star Rehab Routine for Muscle Pulls sent to me by Dan.
A little painful at first as it said it would be but felt much better from the second set.
Started with 3 x 25 with the bar and will put a very samll amount of weight on tomorrow and do the same again.
Also did a back and biceps routine, lots of 3 x 8 with rows etc.

More rehab squats tonight, 2 sets of 25 with the bar then added 5 kg and did another set of 25, will continue with this next week.
Standing presses are out for now but did some seated OH pressing and shoulder work, not a bad session considering.
Did some rope crunches which were a little painful.

Hope this injury clears up quickly mate. Is it something that can be helped on its way by massage, chiropracty or even foam rolling.

glad to be of service! its not often people take my advice. its a usefull protocol thats been well tested and proven. its good for pretty much all muscle belly injuries.

It's an old injury Bill that I caused many years ago by lifting incorrectly at work, it comes back occasionally but my back has been really good for a while now and I thought it had gone for good. I normally take pain killers and rest it for a few weeks then start back training very lightly, this re-hab training is a new approach.
