Nice going, the height is funny to pull from. Its certainly lower than from the knee!

Was a bit lower T, was just lazy logging lol. What height do you reckon it is? 15 inches maybe?

My deadlift set-up everybody loves/takes the piss out of

Friday 21st August @ Fitness First, Leeds:

Box squats:
60kg x 5
90kg x 5
120kg x 5
130kg x 3
130kg x 3
130kg x 3
130kg x 3
130kg x 3
130kg x 3
130kg x 3
130kg x 3

Bench:
50kg x 5
60kg x 5
70kg x 5
82.5kg x 5
82.5kg x 5
82.5kg x 5
82.5kg x 5
82.5kg x 5

Plus a bit of cardio and a little bit of back stuff, was too knackered, god damn humidity!

Happy enough with this session although I tired quickly, a combination of the heat/humidity and a third training session in four days is tough on my fat ass.

Cheers Moz, always nice to get a bit of recognition from a fellow lifter. Happy

Monday 23rd August @ Fitness First, Leeds:

Bench:
50kg x 5
60kg x 5
70kg x 5
80kg x 5
85kg x 5
85kg x 5
85kg x 5
85kg x 5
85kg x 5

Military Press (from floor):
30kg x 5
37.5kg x 3
37.5kg x 3
37.5kg x 3
37.5kg x 3
37.5kg x 3
47.5kg x 2
47.5kg x 2
47.5kg x 2
57.5kg x 1

Did a bit of ab stuff and some Db rows, I fancied seeing how many I could get with 50kg (heaviest dumbell in the gym) and I got 2 with each arm so thats not bad, might try and set some rep pbs with it over the next couple of weeks for fun.

Briefs on
60kg x 10
100kg x 5
140kg x 5
150kg x 2

150kg x 2

Bench:
50kg x 5
60kg x 5
70kg x 5
77.5kg x 5
87.5kg x 5 - 5 Rep PB
87.5kg x 5
87.5kg x 5
87.5kg x 5

Final set on video:

Very happy with this session. First of all Iron Age Gym is still badass. I had two plans today: To get my session done quickly (only had an hour to train) so that meant getting through my squats quickly and easily. This was done by wearing my briefs to make it easier. I upped the weight a bit more since the box was higher than the one I have been using. The other part of my plan was to nail some good beches with better form and in doing so set a PB. Both of these plans were succesful and I left the gym on a real high.

Monday 30th August @ Fitness First, Leeds:

Close grip bench press:
50kg x 5
60kg x 5
70kg x 5
75kg x 5 - 5 rep PB
75kg x 5
75kg x 5
75kg x 5
75kg x 5

Military Press (from floor):
40kg x 3
40kg x 3
40kg x 3
40kg x 3
40kg x 3
50kg x 2
50kg x 2
50kg x 2
60kg x 1 - 1 rep pb

Plus upper body assisstance (db rows 50kg x 3 now haha), some feeble chins and a little back stuff

Happy with this, good upper body assisstance. Switching to cgbp once a week and normal bench once a week, build the triceps and save the shoulders a bit.

Wednesday 2nd September @ Ralls Gym, Leeds:

Squats:
70kg x 5
100kg x 5
135kg x 5
Knee wraps on
165kg x 5
165kg x 5
165kg x 5

Deadlift:
70kg x 5
120kg x 5
140kg x 5
160kg x 5

Good solid squats and deadlifts. Getting some good speed on the deadlifts, with the exception of one or two reps across the sets but I can live with that. Keeping both of these moving up at a good pace. PBs will be there soon.

Monday 6th September @ Fitness First, Leeds:

Bench:
50kg x 5
60kg x 5
70kg x 5
80kg x 5
90kg x 5 - 5 rep PB
90kg x 5
90kg x 5
90kg x 4
90kg x 3

Military Press (first rep from floor):
40kg x 3
40kg x 3
40kg x 3
40kg x 3
40kg x 3
52.5kg x 2
52.5kg x 2
52.5kg x 2
62.5kg x F

Assistance stuff back and guns (50kg x 4 db rows), cardio

Bench was tough but the first set was a 5 rep pb so not all bad. My good spotter had to go after my third set so when I lost the line on my 4th rep and had to grind it I played it safe and smashed a triple for my final set since I wasnt exactly confident about any of the guys in the gym spotting me properly. One thing that pleased me about my bench was I felt totally in the groove, even on the heavy sets, with the exception of the final rep on the fourth set.

Overhead was totally balls. I think benching heavy ruins my overhead press so im going to think about moving my overhead around.
All round I need to set myself a bit of a plan. With not having a comp im just doing it how it feels which is ok for a short time but I dont want to start drifting. Once I have my uni timetable I will have a better idea of what, where and when I can train.

Ok so this is now way out of date...

Some highlights:

Squat:
Nailed 172.5kg x 5 for 3 sets. Thats a 3 set pb, 5kg off my 5 rep pb that I did for one set.
Also did 162.5kg for 5 reps in just a belt. An accidental pb, was meant to be doing 152.5kg as my last warm up set but misloaded myself.

Bench:

92.5kg x 5 bench, nice little pb. However only got it for one set and there was some red lights in there (arse moving off the bench).
Did some swiss bar cgbp also, only for light weight but it is very unstable with no weight on the bar so I think it could be a really solid assistance exercise.

Deadlift:
Did 180kg x 5 off blocks nice and easy and 170kg x 5 from the floor.

Cheers Smallsy and Moz.

Im back on Wednesday, not sure when John will next be in but probably not for a while with work and uni he cant get to Ralls.

Monday 20th September:

Bench:
50kg x 5
60kg x 5
70kg x 5
80kg x 3
80kg x 3
80kg x 3

Db rows:
10kg x 20
20kg x 20
30kg x 20

BW chins:
3 sets of 5

Started on some lat pulldowns and thats when my cold really started to kick my ass so I ended the session there.

I was feeling crappy so I decided to take it fairly easy today, it did occur to me that 80kg was probably more than my 3 rep pb this time last year so to nail it for 3 sets today when im feeling like this is pretty sweet.

Back to Ralls. Big weights being shifted as expected. As well as watching Andy Bolton squatting silly weights as always it is great watching Macca squat, he squats with perfect form every rep sets the bar high for the light weight lifters!

Wednesday 22nd September:

Squat:
70kg x 5
100kg x 5
135kg x 5
155kg x 5
Knee wraps on
175kg x 5
175kg x 5
175kg x 5

No deadlifts tonight since im not 100% yet but the squats felt good. Happy

Cheers Macca, gutted I cant train at Ralls anymore. Well not for now at least. Unhappy Wont fit with my Uni schedule.

I trained last Friday but I was still a bit ill and hungover so I trained mega light.

Then time for some proper training on Monday 27th September:

Safety Squat Bar Squts:
40kg x 5
60kg x 5
80kg x 5
107.5kg x 5
122.5kg x 1
132.5kg x 1
150kg x 1
160kg x 1
170kg x 1 - SSB 1 rep PB, all bar pb
182.5kg x 1 - SSB 1 rep PB, all bar pb

Good Morning:
All sets with Reverse Green Bands with close stance
107.5kg x 8
127.5kg x 8
145kg x 5

alternated with

DB side bends:
30kg x 8 (per side)
40kg x 8 (per side)

Very very happy with the squats, I thought I would be much weaker without knee wraps but I am very happy to nail 400lbs with just a belt, especially on a SSB. Good mornings were a bit messy, few reps were more like squats but this is the first time ive ever done any proper weight on these so im happy enough.

Wednesday 29th September:

Bench:
40kg x 5
50kg x 5
60kg x 5
70kg x 5
80kg x 3
90kg x 1
95kg x 4 - 4 rep PB

Floor press (with fat bar):
All reps paused
67kg x 6
77kg x 6
82kg x 6 - 6 rep PB

alternated with

Neutral grip pull ups:
3 sets of 6 reps

Happy enough with this session. Maybe could have ground out a 5th rep on the bench but I was happy with the solid form on the first 4 reps and I didnt want to lose that for the sake of one rep. Floor press was a bit unsteady but again its a brand new exercise so im happy enough with these.
