Just trying to work out how little I can spend a week on food and still get what I need so far it seems £30 or £4.20 per day

And a question for the guys who do stick to a tight budget what do you eat ?

it does vary as some items i only buy every few weeks but average £25

cheap foods i use
baked beans, porridge oats, eggs. have eggs in an omlette usually, that covers 3 out of 4 meals so the other is meat n the only expensive meal, pork is £4/kg at asda.

peanuts also a cheap food for snacks

If you go to buy a sandwich and/or coffee, you'll get fk all left over. In fact, I'd be surprised if you could get that for less than £4.20 out.

Cheap foods I use are bread, beans, brie/Camembert (200g costs around £1.50) and oats. I've started trying to budget and just bought 1kg of oats for 68p. I use to work milk. Adding kidney beans/chickpeas is a good, cheap way of adding protein and fibre to your diet, as are mushy peas.

I've just spent 74.95 on meat alone today. Will probably last a couple weeks though. 40 chicken breast, 3 trays of chicken thighs (flavoured) 3 full chickens, 2 fillet steaks, 2 rump steaks, 4 gammon steaks, 8 pork chops and I think that's about it

About 30-40 quid usually. Try to keep it on the lower end.

Pretty much what's been said above - oats, eggs, make big pots of chilli with cheap beef and kidney beans/lentils to bulk it out, peanut butter sarnies...

Fruit and veg is pretty cheap if you go to a market stall rather than supermarket.

Pork belly is a good cheap cut of meat with tonnes of calories in it so i buy that a lot too.

I have no idea how people only spend £30 a week on food? What meals do you make?

I eat 4 solid meals a day if not eating out and take food to work and it costs me a lot more.

probably £65 including supplements but atm i have a pretty luxury diet (different food sources at most meals/lots of fresh veg and walnuts [f**king expensive for what they are]) when ive alternated a shake and a solid meal (mostly chicken/rice/olive oil as its cheap as f**k when you buy at bulk places) can be prob £35 a week for 6 large meals

1kg chicken £4 when bought bulk (250g a meal)
rice in bulk (£10 for 10kg)
EVOO (i dunno £3 a litre)
bananas (got 6 for 79p the other day not on offer so 10p a serving)

cheap protein fat and carbs just gets repetative; did this at uni for 3 months (did 3 meals like this and 3 shakes of whey protein/oats/olive oil)
cheap and hard to stick to tbh
