Hand over hand training

Anyone got any good training tips for training vehicle hand over hand? (other than getting a vehicle and a rope and doing the actual event) I was thinking cable row (low pulley) with leg involvement and full forwards and backwards lean using a heavy weight, maybe for 60 or 90 seconds at a time?

rope + tyre setup out of the question?
I would just train your grip, squats, rows and deadlifts, wouldn't bother with low pulley rows

You dont need a car, but you need to train with a rope pulling a sled or weights on a tyre etc IMO

Cable rows will obvioulsy strengthen the back, but its the practice of resetting (speed of resetting) the hands/getting them in the right place etc that needs work

It's the rope that's out of the question, no funds to buy one. May do as Joni says. Happy Just wanna be a bit more prepared for next comp (uk strongman north novice)than my first 2 if poss.

get to olympics for a session that should help.

to be honest, i dont think i have progressed with arm over arm hardly at all after all the training lol!

but, one or two tries would help.

cheers guys. Did a bit of arm over arm at Exertrain with a rope and 100kg tyre plus 25-50kgs of sandbags. The flooring is rubber matting so the friction was a killer. Didn't do any timed pulls, just tried out the tech really. Got blisters on my fingertips and tore one off. I noticed in the under 105 Northern thread some talk of gloves in arm over arm. If it's allowed it's a good idea as this could really f**k up later events. Anyone else had this problem?

My fingers have been bleeding a few times, but just have get on with it

Will see gloves on farmers next incase callouses rip etc
