Except that some of them are genuinely world class at 3,4 or even 5 of their events. I'd hardly call that 'jack'. True they might not be the best at an event, but they are seriously good. Doesnt Ennis hold British records or at least championships at individual events as well as the heptathlon?

They dont usually do the clean and jerk as a main lift, but power cleans are and I know of a lot of guys that were power cleaning 180kg no problem.

I think anyone could take a pummeling with all that armour and the helmets etc. Rugby is much more of a mans game IMO.

Watch the ones you like, dont watch the ones you dont, but to say one is more manly than the other is pathetic male bravardo of the highest order.

Member 194, 4001 posts | Rugby and American Football are totally different games in the same was as strongman and powerlifting are. Footballers wear pads yes - but it also inspires them to hit harder with less risk of injury to themselves - much like a boxer taping his hand and wrist and wearing a glove - not like the old pugalist days. The rules of a tackle are different too - in rugby you have to make an attempt to wrap your arms around the opponent to show its not a shoulder charge - in football you can shoulde charge etc. I don't mind watching the odd bit of Football - I prefer the collage game though as people try harder for contracts etc.
