4 hours of driving yesterday left me with very tight hips.. Made deadlift today harder and form was not as locked in as tightly as I would have liked... Plus blood decided to erupt from my face on rep 2....still 300kg x 4 is a pb and currently weighing less than I have in close to 18 months... 104.5kg this morning... Still in a big calorie deficit and dropping weight fast...7.5kg in 7 weeks now. Will work on freeing hips up this week then maybe try a new max next week, will see how cut continues. Need to tighten my belt too as not doing a whole lot now... far too loose.

Not the cleanest pulls, but great progress none the less. Doesn't seem that long ago you set 300 as your 1rm.

Lot of forward drift so to pull that regardless is impressive - do you find belt causes issues in positioning, I had same problem with forward drift bar path tonight and convinced its thick SS lever belt causing it as it doesn't happen when I don't wear it

No they weren't tbh mate, hips massively tight but went for it anyways. Yes 300 was a goal for so long. TBH strength isn't my main concern currently as switched more to BB and a big cut for a time but deads still seem to be progressing so do it while I can.

Yup first rep was terrible lol. My issue today was hips mate, my belt is so loose I may as well have not bothered tbh, need to tighten it. A belt can throw things off for sure mate and yes I agree sometimes beltess feels better in that respect.

Big improvement mate. Good work. I often find losing weight(especially around the midsection) improves my pull tbh. Better leverages.

Thank you mate, indeed it does seem to make a difference. I was watching your pulls the other day..i need to develop that glute power to push through as you lockout...you make it look so easy lol.

That just looks like a foot positioning thing to me mate. With your feet pointed directly ahead like you have them it makes it harder to engage the glutes.
Hence why I point my toes out a little bit, allows more glute engagement above the knees.

Can test this simple by just standing up at home with your feet point directly forward like you do and try flexing your glutes, then point your toes out and flex them again and feel the difference.

Mmm that is something I have never experimented with currently my toes are pointed out like maybe 5 degree at most...I will experiment turning them out a tad more...you make a very valid point...cheers mate, appreciate that Happy How much do you turn them out?
