SQUATS
2 sets of 3 reps with 150kg

BENCH
Borked my hand at work today. Couldn't hold past 60kg.

DUMBELL PRESS
Managed to hold 20s so did 4 sets of 10 slow reps.

CUFFED TRICEP EXT
3 sets of 19 then 13 then 12 reps

CUFFED BICEP CURL
2 sets of 15 then 13 reps.

HAMSTRING CURL
Sets of 20 with 45kg

Couldn't hold f**k all in my hand. Injured it during work and don't know how. It's the meaty part of the thumb.

Had a lung infection since last Monday night so taking it eaay.

SQUAT
1 set of 5 reps with 135kg

BENCH
4 sets of 5 reps with 95kg
1 set of 4 reps (really slow) with 95kg

SEATED DUMBELL PRESS
3 sets of 10 reps with 22kg

WIDE GRIP PULLDOWN
3 sets of 10 reps with 52kg

FACE PULLS
3 sets of 10 reps with 25kg

REAR DELT
3 sets of 12 reps with 36kg

Pretty rough today so took it a bit easy. Was still a good sesh. Had an energy dip in the middle.

My lung condition has advanced to a worse place.

Unfortunately no session today. My training is quaffing pills like a ned on Saturday night and laying still in a warm room.

Hopefully will be back to something by next week if I'm lucky. Things were going really well too.

"Patient not responding to treatment"

Some more time needed.

On the plus side, my training partner is now hitting the numbers needed for a 120kg bench!

Felt well enough to go in and do some bench.

Built up to a 115kg decent rep.
Failed 120kg twice by a ballhair.

Gonna program from a 115 single now.
I'll take 115kg after hospitalisation for a long period!

My legs on the other hand. Walked up 3 flights of stairs and had doms on the way back down hahaha.

Being bedridden will do that to a body I guess haha

Bench

Seated Dumbell Press
3 sets of 3 reps with 28kg
1 set of 12 reps with 20kg

Face pull
4 sets of 12 reps

Pulldowns
3 sets of 10 reps

45 Degree Backraise
2 sets of 8 reps

Rear Delts
3 sets of 8 reps with 45kg

I still feel really quite weak. Had to stop because I felt like I was going to faint.

Squat.
First squats since my illness began many weeks ago so kept it easy and simple.
1 set of 10 reps with 60kg


Bench.
4 sets of 5 reps with 95kg
1 dropset with 95, 90, 80kg.

Machine fly.
Sets of 10 building up to a set of 8 reps with 95kg.

Seated dumbell press.
2 sets of 3 reps with 28kg dumbells.
1 set of 4 reps with 28kg dumbells.

Was feeling pretty worn out and ill after this so went home.
Bench and overhead were both a little better than last week so I'm really happy to be honest.

do you still have those cute little animals that are super soft and lovable ?

running has wrecked my body even more than father time has , so i will be stopping running after the marathon and starting with some very wee weights to de-age myself.

Unfortunately the little furry beasts have passed over the rainbow bridge to a better place now but I still think of them every single day. They brought a lot of joy to my life.

I am not on my facebook as often now as I don't have the energy for trolling so much any more but I did see that you were thinking of avoiding further marathons which I can fully understand. When I was training for mine, it was amazing, as was being so fit, but like you say it does age a body. What you've achieved in the sporting world really is gold standard though and is something to be very proud of. Yorkshires strongest man, Heavyweight rowing unit, Iron Man competitor, open water swimmer and marathon runner.
Really quite incredible.

If you decide to post a journal on here, I'll check it weekly as I do with everyones when I write my own. I'll look forward to it if it's a thing.

Mr Wayne, thank you. I try to be as positive as I can. I've kind of accepted that whilst I may never be as strong as you units on here, I find training fun, I find the social side of it fun and I love helping some of the younger lifters come through and get better. Many of them in their late teenage years are better than I've ever been already and watching them dial in their technique, and their strength rise as a result of it is a real joy.

Okay! Today!
Squats are still pretty out of the question, the Valsalva manoeuvre is causing me to wretch because my oesophagus is still extremely tender, but I can bench not bad and stifle the cough pretty well.

Benchpress
4 sets of 5 reps with 100kg
1 set of 4 reps and one assisted rep with 2 second pauses with 100kg

This is better than last week. Really happy here. Was super happy to almost get the 5th set with the pauses.

Seated Dumbell Press
2 sets of 4 reps with 28kg dumbells
1 set of 5 reps with 28kg dumbells

These are up a rep again on last week. Pretty cool!

Romanian Deadlift
4 sets of 8 reps with 40kg

I don't need much on these, my hamstrings are very inflexible. Feels great!

Plate pinches 10kg per hand
35 seconds
45 seconds
55 seconds
